Property Update - From Above

December 2, 2014

Our stay in Nuevo Vallarta began on November 8 and ended on November 22, 2014. We left with many photos of the propterty that we will share with everyone.

Before going too fast, we thought it might be helpful to get an oveview of the Gupo Vidanta property at Neuvo Vallarta. We had the oppotunity to get a first hand look at some of the areas that are under development and thought it would be interesting to see them from the air through the eyes of Google Earth.

This would not be possible without current images. As luck would have it, the most recent images of the property are dated July 22, 2014. That is less than five months ago. What a great oppotunity, we thought.

To begin with, let's view an image of the map that was on the wall in the Sales Department in Nuevo Vallarta in October. Thank you Kevin for sharing this with us. The images that follow are from the same map. The last two are simply close up images of the larger map. (Note - if you tap an image, it will expand for higher resolution. We were told by the Sales Department that there are many new buildings under construction on the property. We were also told the Greg Norman course was under construction. Also, we were told that plans for the Celebrate Park were moving forward.

One of the new buildings is east of the Residence Tower. We were told it is the new Tower 5, and it will be made up of 180 studio type units that are 1,050 SF. Additionally, we were told there would be another structure that will look like "Butterfly Wings". Reportedly, this structure will have two and three bedroom Residence units along with Lofts on the top floor.

We mention these items because there is a building that appears on the Grupo Vidanta map and that is east of the Residence Tower. Although a new map may change the appearance of this previously unnamed building, it is good to know what the company has in mind. As we all know, tomorrow may bring an entirely different plan. But at least now there is an explanation for a building that has been on Vidanta sales maps before but never discussed.

Now let's consider Google Map images of the same areas to detemine if there actually is activity in the areas of the sales map.

This Google Earth image shows the Punta Tower at the mouth of the Ameca River, the border of the states of Jalisco and Nayarit, Mexico. Luxxe Towers 1 and 2 are the next two buildings east of the Punta. The building with three thatched roofs is the Cafe del Lago restaurant. The Mayan Palace with the Plaza shopping center is to the left of the Cafe del Lago. Further left is the Grand Bliss followed by the Grand Mayan. The Santuario is behind the Grand Bliss. All of these structures are on Grupo Vidanta's property at Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

  • The cloverleaf exit and entrance is under construciton. In fact is visible as you drive to and from the resort on the way to the resorts.
  • The Greg Norman course activity is evident by the brown areas with lakes and other odd shaped structures in the ground.
  • The brown area east of the Residence Tower is where the new Tower 5 is under construction; Footings had been poured when we were there.
  • The brown area east of the Santuario is where the new taxi entrance will be located.
  • The large area of dirt in front of Towers 3 and 4 is still there, but it is shaping up to become a large lagoon.
What we present is a snapshot, a glimpse dated July 22, 2014. More is on the way.
